Specializing in the printing of labels for the food, pharmaceutical and industrial markets and committed to providing customized solutions to its customers, Imprimerie Ste-Julie offers a state-of-the-art environment and is in need of a new evening finishing press operator to join the team and support its current and future growth.

LOCATION: Ste-Julie

JOB: Permanent

START DATE: As soon as possible

SALARY: To be discussed

 

SCHEDULE: Flexibility possible

Evening, starts at 2pm.

  • 5 days from Monday to Friday: 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm;
  • 4 days from Monday to Thursday: 2:00 pm to 12:30 pm

YOUR ROLE

Essentially, your job will be to give the final shape to the self-adhesive labels that you will find on products offered at the SAQ or in supermarkets. You will receive rolls of labels already printed by your colleagues (color and design), and your role will be to make the necessary adjustments on your press so that it cuts them to give them the final shape desired by our client. The quality of your work depends on the proper functioning of the assembly line at our client’s, who will apply your labels to their products. You’ll have to make sure you manage your printing priorities while organizing your production to reduce costs for us.

The beauty of it all? You don’t need to have any previous experience in the field. We are ready to welcome you and train you on site. However, your training will have to be done on the day shift, for a few months, before you have the autonomy required to work at night.

What you do need is a good attitude, motivation to learn, open-mindedness, a good dose of autonomy and the desire to deliver good quality work.

 

DESCRIPTION OF YOUR IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR AND TEAM

You will report directly to our VP of Operations, Marilene, who is herself a co-owner of the company (It’s a family business!). Marilene is a go-getter, outspoken and all around type of person. She is the type of person who gives her all to support dynamic employees who want to invest themselves fully in their work. In return, she expects you to be responsible and professional in your work and in your approach to others, autonomous and with a strong team spirit. Your team is made up of people with different personalities, but all linked by the desire to deliver quality work, on time.

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Read and understand the production instructions
  • Make the necessary adjustments to the press to ensure that the labels are cut according to the customer’s specifications
  • Install/remove/clean plates and cylinders after printing
  • Correctly identify production priorities
  • Collaborate effectively with other team members to ensure deadlines are met
  • Organize your production to reduce costs to the company

 

REQUIRED SKILLS 
  • E.S. or other relevant degree or combination of experience
  • Previous experience as a pressman or press assistant will be considered an important asset
  • Written and oral French: Intermediate
